The Short Version
We collect the minimum needed to book you a restaurant. We don't sell your data. We never see your payment details.
What We Collect
When you chat with Monti:
- Your messages and conversation history (to provide context and remember your preferences)
- Name, phone number, and email (when you provide them for bookings)
- Dining preferences, dietary requirements, and favourite restaurants (to personalise recommendations)
When you visit montierguide.com:
- Standard web analytics (page views, device type, approximate location by city)
- We use cookies only for essential site functionality
Payment Data
When a booking requires payment, it is processed securely through Stripe. Montier never sees, stores, or has access to your full card number, CVV, or bank details. Stripe is PCI DSS Level 1 certified — the highest level of payment security. Apple Pay and Google Pay tokens are processed entirely by Stripe.
We receive only a transaction confirmation and the last four digits of your card (for your receipt). All payment data is governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.
How We Use Your Data
- Facilitate bookings — your name, contact details, and party size are shared with venues to make reservations
- Personalise your experience — we remember your preferences so Monti gets better over time
- Improve the service — understanding how people use Montier helps us make it better
Who We Share With
- Restaurants — your booking details (name, phone, party size, special requests) are shared with the venue you're booking at
- Booking platforms — when we use Resy, OpenTable, or similar platforms, your booking details pass through their systems under their privacy policies
- Nobody else. We don't sell, rent, or trade your data. No advertising partners. No data brokers.
Data Storage
Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. Conversation history and preferences are retained to provide a consistent experience across sessions.
Your Rights
You can at any time:
- Request your data — ask Monti or email us, and we'll send you everything we have
- Delete your data — ask Monti to "forget me" or email us, and we'll wipe your history and preferences
- Correct your data — tell Monti to update any incorrect information
Third-Party Services
We use the following services which have their own privacy policies:
- Stripe — for secure payment processing
- WhatsApp (Meta) — for messaging
- Telegram — for messaging
- Google Places — for restaurant search
- Anthropic — for AI conversation
- Vercel — for website hosting
- Supabase — for data storage
Children
Montier is not intended for use by anyone under 16.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
